Emerald City Pictures announces its second quarter grant!

The team from ECP has decided on its second quarter grant! Congratulations to Food LifeLine!
Each year Food lifeline distributes more than 35 million pounds of food to hungry people in Western Washington, the equivalent of more than 27 million meals. They provide food to over 745,000 hungry people throughout Western Washington. This year ECP is going to help with Food LifeLine’s Summer Hunger Program. The Summer Hunger Program is designed to remind people that there still is need, especially in the summer when it is easy to forget that many people, especially children rely on school meals and government programs that find lean times in the summer months. The ECP website is getting a refresh!

Finally we’ve gotten some time to breath and begin a badly needed refresh of the website. The new website should be done by the end of March and feature more examples of what we can do. Some of the new fun stuff will include cool title sequences, special effects, audio scrubbing, and many more reels… stay tuned. PS, if there is something you think we should add, please drop us a line and let us know!

Eyes in the Dark now on DVD

After finishing up a year long festival run, Emerald City Picture’s second feature film, Eyes in the Dark, was released on DVD this week. To celebrate the release, the Eyes cast and crew showed sneak previews of the movie and gave away free t-shirts at the Spitfire in downtown Seattle on March 30th. The DVD is available for purchase through this link, or through amazon.com.

Review from the Killer Film Fest

Eyes in the Dark played earlier this month at the Killer Film Fest and was well-received with audiences. Eyes cinematographer Joseph Cole was in attendance and answered fan questions following the screening. Horror-101 was also there and the popular horror blog gave the film a great review. Eyes in the Dark Music Video Released

Emerald City Pictures is proud to announce its first tie-in music video! The song is “Away” by Seattle-based hard rock band S.Y.F.T. and the video features clips from the ECP feature film, Eyes in the Dark.

The song is featured during the closing credits of Eyes in the Dark. When asked about the song, Eyes music coordinator, Marco Scaringi, had this to say:

S.Y.F.T. has such a rockin’ sound, they were an easy choice for Eyes in the Dark. It wasn’t til much later that I had the idea to make the music video. I pitched the idea to the band and the rest of the Emerald City team, and everyone really liked the idea.

The video was Marco Scaringi’s directorial debut (for video production), and had the familiar ECP crew that you all know and love: Bjorn Anderson as producer, Joseph Cole as DP, and Robyn Scaringi as editor. ECP also used the talents of up-and-coming filmmaker, Lionel Flynn, on second camera and lighting.

The crew and the band would like to thank Mike Boxford for allowing us to film part of the music video on his property, and for being such a generous and entertaining host. Thanks Boxford!

Another Film Festival for Eyes

Eyes in the Dark has been selected to play in its home town of Seattle for the Local Sightings Film Festival. Eyes is one of only 10 features selected to play at Local Sightings, a festival that specializes in showing the best (and most overlooked) films from the Pacific Northwest. The festival is in its 13th year and will be held at the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
